Cookies and Browser Storage Policy

Necessary session functions and one browser preference; no advertising or analytics trackers.

A small amount of storage for the task

D&K Tax Firm LLC uses necessary website storage so you can choose products, work through checkout and keep a cookie preference. A cookie is a small value your browser sends back to the website. Local storage is a separate browser feature that can remember a value on the same website without sending it with every page request. Both need an explanation; calling one of them something other than a cookie does not make it invisible to you.

Our current shopping approach uses a necessary session identifier to connect your browser to cart and unfinished checkout information on the server. The cookie preference is kept in local storage. We do not use optional advertising cookies, behavioral profiles, analytics tags, social-network pixels or cross-site marketing trackers. Accepting the available cookies does not activate an undisclosed advertising category or subscribe you to marketing messages.

The shopping session

The merchant session cookie is named dktaxfirmllc_session and has a 12-hour lifetime, equivalent to 43,200 seconds. It supports continuity for a cart, an unfinished checkout and security checks. It is not itself a full copy of your delivery address or product description. The session is not an account service, and we do not promise an unfinished cart will remain available indefinitely or follow you to another device.

Closing a tab does not necessarily remove a cookie that has time left. Clearing the session cookie, blocking necessary cookies, using a different browser or letting the session expire can leave you without the earlier cart or unfinished form. Recheck your selection and total before submitting. Clearing a session does not cancel a request you already sent, reverse a bank transfer or delete a merchant record; contact us for those actions.

The preference remembered in your browser

The cookie panel remembers your choice for up to 180 days in local storage for this store. Its purpose is to avoid repeatedly asking the same question, not to follow you across unrelated websites. If local storage is blocked or cleared, the panel may ask again. A setting made in one browser or device does not automatically apply in another.

The available preference controls may offer acceptance of available cookies and an essential-only choice. Both currently allow only necessary functions because there are no optional categories in use. Saving a preference does not make essential cart and security storage optional. Opening settings and leaving without saving should not change an existing preference. You can reopen Cookie settings from the site control when you want to review or change the stored choice.

Cart and draft are not the preference record

The local-storage preference is not a saved order and should not be confused with the cart. Cart and unfinished checkout information belong to the necessary session described above. We do not store a separate cart archive in local storage or offer a cross-device draft service. An order reference shown after submission identifies a request for review, not a payment or guaranteed shipment.

Avoid using a shared or public browser for information you do not want another user to see. Clear the site's storage when finished if appropriate, and close the browser according to your own device-security routine. We do not claim that clearing browser data removes information from a carrier, bank or a submitted merchant order. Those records have separate purposes and retention periods described in the Privacy Policy.

Managing browser controls and troubleshooting

Most browsers let you view or delete cookies and local storage in privacy or site-data settings. Look for this site's domain and remove only its data if you do not want to clear unrelated websites. Browser menu names differ; consult your browser's help if the option is not obvious. Blocking all storage can interfere with cart continuity, checkout security or the preference panel rather than creating a fully functional no-storage shopping mode.

If your selection unexpectedly disappears, check whether private browsing, an automatic cleanup setting or a different browser profile is in use. You may need to build the cart again. Before repeating a submitted request, look for the reference you already received or contact us so that a storage issue does not become an unintended duplicate request. Do not send screenshots containing session values, private addresses or another person's information to demonstrate a cookie problem.

Changes and questions

If optional tools are introduced in the future, this policy and the relevant controls must explain them before they are treated as part of your choice. We do not treat an essential-only preference as permission for later advertising. Contact us using the routes below with a browser-storage question; mention the browser and the step that failed, not passwords or security tokens. The Privacy Policy explains how to request help with personal information already held about an order or inquiry.
